FAMILY QUESTIONS, CLEAR ANSWERS
Planned for Nampa. Open to families across the Treasure Valley and beyond. Learn how families can help bring this proposed public charter school to our region while exploring our American classical vision and academic growth plan.
Anticipated Opening:
Fall 2029.
Libertas Classical Academy is a proposed tuition-free public charter school in Nampa, Idaho, planning to serve students in grades K–7 and anticipated to open in Fall 2029. The school is still in the development and authorization process, so some details may evolve.
Libertas is being developed as a tuition-free public charter school. Final operation is subject to the required charter authorization and other approvals.
No tuition is planned. As a public charter school, Libertas is intended to be tuition-free for eligible students.
Libertas anticipates opening in Fall 2029 with grades K–7. The growth plan is K–8 in 2030, K–9 in 2031, and one additional grade each year until the school serves grades K–12, subject to charter authorization and applicable approvals.
Libertas is planned for a Nampa, Idaho site with Treasure Valley impact. Families in Nampa, Caldwell, Meridian, Boise, across the Treasure Valley, and beyond are encouraged to submit an Intent to Enroll. Nampa city residency is not required. If applications exceed available seats, admission will follow the public charter school lottery process required by law. A final facility location will be announced when ready.
American classical education is grounded in human nature, rich in content, concerned with moral formation, and thoughtfully patriotic. It provides a true liberal arts and science education through teacher-led, time-tested instruction, cultivating knowledge, good character, and civic virtue.
Libertas proposes a vertically and horizontally aligned classical curriculum so knowledge builds in an orderly sequence and subjects illuminate one another. For the planned K–7 opening, the course of study includes explicit phonics, spelling, grammar, composition, classic literature and poetry; American and world history, geography, and civics; Singapore Math Dimensions; life, physical, earth, and chemical sciences; art, music, and physical education. Final scope, materials, and course details remain subject to the charter-development process.
An Intent to Enroll is a non-binding expression of family interest. It helps the founding group demonstrate community demand while the school is being developed.
Yes. Please include every child in your household who could potentially attend Libertas in grades K–7 in Fall 2029. The Intent form is designed to capture each potentially eligible child so community demand is measured accurately.
No. An Intent to Enroll is non-binding and does not guarantee a seat. Future admissions and enrollment procedures will follow Idaho law and the school’s final authorized policies.
Use the Contact & Updates form on the site. The founding group will share major milestones, information sessions, and enrollment-related updates as the school moves forward.
Libertas is Latin for liberty or freedom. The name reflects the classical conviction that truth, knowledge, virtue, and disciplined habits prepare young people for responsible freedom. It is not a reference to any modern political party or ideological label.
Parents are a child's first and most important teachers. Libertas seeks a genuine partnership with families through clear communication, mutual respect, shared expectations, and a common commitment to each child's growth in knowledge and character.
Libertas expects to develop a transportation service area as planning advances. Families living within that defined area are expected to receive free bus transportation. The final boundary, routes, stops, and timing will be announced after the school’s facility and transportation plans are confirmed.
As enrollment grows and interest in sanctioned sports develops, Libertas plans to establish its own high school teams. Until those teams are available, eligible students may seek to participate with the public school serving the attendance boundary where they live, subject to that school’s policies, Idaho eligibility rules, and available opportunities.
Libertas Classical Academy is an ACSI-supported school founding effort. ACSI supports the startup, growth, and flourishing of classical public charter schools in Idaho through outreach, charter development, facility and school-leader planning, and launch support. Its model keeps most decisions at the local level while aligning schools around a shared classical mission. Libertas remains a proposed school, and final governance and operating decisions will be established through the formal charter-development process.
